Yes, because we have an NHS license we can receive, dispense and deliver all your NHS prescription medication right to your doorstep, or to a more appropriate address if you are not at home during the day i.e. workplace for free.

By filling out our nomination form we can receive or collect all your prescriptions on your behalf from your surgery.

If you have a green NHS prescription at home you can post it to us and we will dispense and deliver to you.

You can get free NHS prescriptions if, at the time the prescription is dispensed, you:

  • are 60 or over
  • are under 16
  • are 16-18 and in full-time education
  • are pregnant or have had a baby in the previous 12 months and have a valid maternity exemption certificate (maternity exemption)
  • have a specified medical condition and have a valid medical exemption certificate (medical exemption)
  • have a continuing physical disability that prevents you from going out without help from another person and have a valid medical exemption
  • hold a valid war pension exemption certificate and the prescription is for your accepted disability
  • are an NHS inpatient

You are also entitled to free prescriptions if you or your partner (including civil partners) are named on, or are entitled to, an NHS tax credit exemption certificate or a valid HC2 certificate (full help with health costs), or you receive either:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit

To apply for an HC2 certificate you will need to complete an HC1 form.

You can obtain an HC1 form from:

  • Your local Jobcentre Plus offices
  • NHS hospital
  • Dentist
  • Doctor
  • Optician
  • Calling 0845 610 1112 (charges may apply)

If you do not qualify for an HC2 certificate you may still receive help towards your NHS prescription charges if you are sent an HC3 certificate.

If you do not qualify for free NHS prescriptions and you pay for more than 3 items in 3 months or 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a pre-payment certificate (PPC).

Yes, if you contact us and let us know what the item(s) and quantity are we can calculate a price for you. If you are happy with the private prescription charge and postage cost (where applicable), send the prescription to us and we will dispense and deliver it right to your doorstep, or to a more appropriate address if you are not at home during the day i.e. work place.

Yes, as part of our NHS distance selling contract we are required to deliver all NHS prescription medication for free.

Once you have placed your order you will receive an email confirming the details of your order, including the order the number, items ordered and total cost including any delivery charges (if applicable).

Please note: unfortunately we cannot add additional items to your order once it has been placed. Under these circumstances you will need to put a further order through for the additional items.


If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact our Customer Services at or by telephone on 01483 760237, stating the items you wish to return, name and contact details, within 30 days.

Return the goods to us in the exact condition in which they were delivered. Certain items cannot be refunded or exchanged unless faulty or sent incorrectly: for instance condoms, medicines or foods.

We recommend using Recorded Delivery when returning products. Your statutory rights will not be affected.

If we are in error we will refund the delivery charges.

Cancelling your order

If you wish to cancel your order contact the Express Dispense Customer Care Team as soon as possible after having placed the order. However, once your order has been dispatched we can no longer cancel your order.

Refunds will be processed within 24 hours during the working week (Monday–Friday) or processed on the next working day after a weekend or bank holiday. Please allow 3-5 working days for the money to be credited back to your bank account.

All Express Dispense customers can make payment via Credit or Debit Card.

Express Dispense try to replenish stock on a daily basis. However, if you are looking for an item that happens to be out of stock contact the Express Dispense customer care team on 01483 760237 or via email They can then give you an estimated time of when the item(s) should be back in stock.

Express Dispense delivery drivers will deliver to the following postcodes, GU21, GU22, GU23, and GU24.

All other orders will be sent via Royal Mail.

Please note: all orders for Prescription/OTC medication must be signed for by the recipient.

If your order has been delivered by special delivery, a signature will be required to complete the delivery of your package. If you are unable to sign for your delivery, the items may be returned to your local Post Office depot, or left with a neighbour depending on the delivery options selected. If you do not collect your items they will be returned to Express Dispense who may charge for the re-delivery.

A valid email address is necessary for all customers to make purchases through This means that we can contact you if there are any problems with your order and keep you up to date with our services.

We do not keep any of your financial information. Your personal information is only used by Express Dispense Ltd to keep you updated with any service changes or offers we feel may be of interest to you, or to contact you in the event of a problem with your order and can only be accessed by relevant members of staff. We do not pass on your personal information to other parties.
